Amelia Young

Amelia Young joined the Eyewitness News team in July 2017 as a reporter/multimedia journalist.

Her love for journalism sprouted from her joy of storytelling on all platforms, whether that is the stage or screen. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in May 2017, majoring in communication studies and double minoring in journalism and theatre.

While at the University of Tennessee, Amelia interned at the Knoxville ABC affiliate station, WATE-TV, in the months following the devastating Gatlinburg wildfires. She also interned at Ryan Seacrest Foundation’s Seacrest Studios in Nashville, a radio and television studio broadcast in Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Amelia also deejayed at UT’s 90.3 the Rock and interned at Cumulus Media.

In her spare time she loves watching the Tennessee Volunteers (Go Vols!), the Nashville Predators and spending time with her dog, Winnie. She was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, and is excited to bring some of her southern charm to the Tri-State.

Amelia loves to hear all story ideas, so if you have one, feel free to message her at ayoung@tristatehomepage.com. Make sure to “Like” her on Facebook and follow her on Twitter for updates on news in the Tri-State area!
