Hank Linderman running for Congress

Owensboro resident Hank Linderman has filed for Kentucky's 2nd District Congressional seat, currently held by Republican Congressman Brett Guthrie.

Linderman, a Democrat, is a former musician and recording engineer.

He said he will work to improve healthcare, including mental and dental, and fight for affordable tuition.

His main project, he said, will be working to promote a federal program for rural broadband.

“We need robust broadband and it needs to be accessible by all our citizens. Broadband has become just as much of a utility, just as much of a requirement for life these days as clean water and electricity and a telephone,” said Linderman.

The 2nd District includes Owensboro, Bowling Green, and Bardstown.

Linderman will face Brian Pedigo, Rane Eir Olivia Sessions, and Grant Short in the Democratic Primary.

Rep. Guthrie is unopposed in the Republican primary.

The primary takes place May 22.
