Matt Hostettler announces campaign for District 64 state representative

Matt Hostettler, former Congressman John Hostettler's son, has announced his intentions to run as a Republican candidate for Indiana's District 64 state representative seat.

An official announcement was made on Monday at the Fort Branch Senior Center.

Current District 64 State Rep. Washburne intends to retire at the end of the 2018 term.

On his campaign's Facebook page, the candidate said, “My family and I are very fortunate to call Indiana home. Our legislative body is a reflection of Hoosier commitment to both fiscal and personal responsibility with limited government interference. District 64 has exemplified these values through Rep. Washburne, and it is my goal to pick up where he will leave off. This is a wonderful place for Michelle and I to raise our family, and I intend to ensure that it remains a wonderful place for my son to raise his.”

District 64 includes all of Gibson County and portions of Knox, Pike, Vanderburgh and Posey counties.
