Rep. Luke Messer responds to residency criticism

(Your Local Election Headquarters) - US Senate candidate and current Representative Luke Messer (R-IN) is facing criticism for his residency.

Rep. Messer confirms he has a house with his wife Jennifer in McLean, Virginia, a Washington D.C. suburb. Messer says he also co-owns a house with his mother in Greensburg, Indiana.

He said the house was the first either of them ever owned.

Congressman Messer said he made the decision to bring his family to the Washington D.C. area to be able to spend more time with his family.

Messer is one of several Republican candidates who are seeking the Republican Party's nomination for Indiana's US Senate seat currently held by Senator Joe Donnelly (D-IN).

Rep. Todd Rokita and State Rep. Mike Braun are also seeking the Republican nomination.
