Brick by brick, crews started tearing down an Evansville cornerstone this morning.
Demolition has been underway at the Faultless Caster building in the 1400 block of N Garvin.
As we reported Tuesday, the historic structure dates back to WWI. It helped turn Evansville into a hub for the manufacturing of furniture.
City officials say over the winter, the cold temperatures caused the pipes from the fire sprinkler system to burst.
This caused extensive damage and ultimately led to the property owner deciding to have the building demolished.
We're told demolition will take several days.
