Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson says Governor Steve Beshear has yet to decide whether to schedule one to debate bills not passed this past session. Among them, a bill that would address the commonwealth's growing heroin epidemic.
Abramson says he's unsure if Beshear will call for one to address just one issue.
"You have 60 days to work through a legislative session," said Abramson, "and so many of our legislators work so hard. But for whatever reason, we don't seem to be able to get it all done. In this case, that bill and several others are still outstanding."
Abramson says it would cost up to $65,000 a day for a special session, which could last up to six days.
