Acker Sentenced to House Arrest after Forgery Guilty Plea

- An Evansville man pleads guilty in connection with a counterfeit investigation, but he tells Eyewitness News he did nothing wrong.

Brian Acker pleaded guilty to forgery. In return, he was sentenced to two years house arrest.

Acker was arrested in September after police say they found more than $700 in counterfeit bills in his home.

However, in a phone conversation with Eyewitness News, Acker said he got the fake money as payment when he sold his car and that he did not know the cash was counterfeit.

Prosecutors disagree. They say he was part of a distribution ring.
