Authorities scour the west side of Evansville for a person they say stole power tools.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office describe the suspect as a black male with a beard, around 5'5" in height. He was wearing a red jacket or hoodie with blue jeans.

Deputies say the man tried to walk out the front door of home depot with a cart full of power tools. This was just after 6:00 p.m.

An employee reportedly tried to stop the man, but deputies say the suspect threatened to shoot the employee and ran out the door. No weapon was ever shown.

He was last seen pushing the cart in the direction of Walmart. K9's were sent out to search for the suspect for a brief period of time.

If you have any information about this case, you are asked to call the sheriff's office at (812) 421-6200.
