Authorities Seize More than 1 Ton of Marijuana

Fort Wayne has seen one of its largest drug busts to date.

Several law enforcement agencies raided a warehouse and found more than a ton of marijuana.

The drugs, with a street value of nearly $1.7 million, were found hidden in deep freezers, according to the DEA.

Investigators say an Indianapolis man, Martin Gonzalez-Medina, was bringing in marijuana from Mexico, and storing it in the warehouse before sending it to dealers in the area.

Officers from the Steuben County and Noble County Sheriff's Departments along with the Fort Wayne Police Department took part in the raid.

Gonzalez-Medina is charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.
