A Vanderburgh County judge sentences Ira Beumer to two years and credit for time served, meaning he's a free man. This comes after Beumer plead guilty to criminal recklessness after going to trial for murder.

Beumer was accused of running his truck into a car full of burglary suspects, who he had caught in his home in 2012. The men were driving away from the scene. One of them, Antuan Jenkins, was killed when the vehicle crashed. The other three men have all been convicted for their parts in the break-in. A fourth suspect, who was in another car driving away from the scene, was also arrested that night and convicted.

As part of Beumer's plea deal, the attempted murder and batter charges were dropped. He faced 2-8 years in prison, but the judge decided to go with the minimal punishment.
