Board Approves $9 Million for EVSC Safety Improvements

The Indiana Secured School Safety Board approves nine million dollars to help schools improve safety.

School corporations around the state are given anywhere between 15,000-50,000 dollars for security equipment or to employ a school resource officer.

The EVSC will receive 50,000 dollars.

School Superintendent Doctor David Smith says the school corporation already spends 400,000 dollars a year on school safety.

Five million in state money will be used to buy security equipment. Four million will employ new school resource officers.
