The powerful storms destroyed several businesses and homes across the Tristate, but it did not destroy hope for one local organization. A Boonville youth center hopes to get back on its feet.

Studio Bee serves as a center for kids from age five, to teenagers. The non profit center was supposed to have it's annual dinner-auction last Friday. A week after the storm, they find a way to push forward.

Randy Beard says he believes not all is lost after last Friday's storms swept through the Tristate. "When it hit, our fist thought was lets get everyone into safety," says Beard.

The storm damaged their town, but not their hope. "Hope that's what, hope." Beard is the Executive Director of Studio Bee, a community youth center in Boonville.

They were supposed to hold their annual fundraiser, a night they call vital for their non profit organization, but the storms swept away their plans. "We're coming together, and the kids they are really resilient," says Beard.

Beard says the fundraiser is crucial to them. "We want to help not hurt, we want to heal not harm." A safe place for youth to come, Beard calls the 'Bee' a family. "You think about coming together as a community, and that touches the heart," says Beard.

The center says they will persevere, so they rescheduled the fundraiser for this Friday. "We don't like to paint it a picture that all is lost, because it's not." They wont have the food they had planned to serve, but Beard says they will have dessert and items donated from the community to auction off. "We still believe, even when the world turns on me, and that line just keeps coming back to me," says Beard.

He plays that line in a song, because here at Studio Bee, it's hope after the storm.

The fundraiser is now planned for 5 p.m. Friday night.

Studio Bee is located at 120 Flint Street in Boonville, Indiana.
