A traveling cannabis school makes a stop in Owensboro Saturday.
Organizers say Comfy Tree Cannabis Academy is a mixture of business and science. It focuses on retail cannabis opportunities, overviews of laws and cultivation.
Co-owner, Tiffany Bowden, says it's important for people to learn about the industry before it expands.

"It's a preparation simply because the cannabis industry is very entangled, there's a lot of financial investment that needs to happen, a lot of, um, mental preparation, a lot of networking that has to happen and because of all of those hurdles and because it's not exactly a traditional industry, the more information you have up front, the better," said Bowden.

Bowden also said it's legal for people in Kentucky to have retail hemp businesses, as long as the products are imported from other countries.
The academy's next stop is Atlanta on September 20th.
