Two more fast food chains are telling customers to leave the guns at home. Chili's and Sonic are banning guns from its restaurants.

Both companies issued separate but seemingly coordinated statements asking patrons not to bring weapons into the restaurants.

The announcements follows demonstrations by open-carry activists who brought handguns and even rifles and shotguns into Sonic, Chili's, and Chipotle Mexican Grill outlets in Texas.

Starbucks, Wendy's, Jack in the Box, and Applebee's have instituted similar no guns policies.
