A Kentucky House committee says, "No," to proposed right to work legislation.

The House Labor Committee heard about an hour of testimony on the idea before voting it down.  That means the idea is likely dead for this session of the General Assembly.  Supporters say the Commonwealth needs to become a right to work state to be competitive and to attract jobs.  Opponents say it is a union busting tactic that will only lead to lower wages.

Right to work laws allow workers in union shops to refuse to join the union representing the other workers.
