The school year has been extended for Daviess County Public Schools. Officials from other western Kentucky school corporations are planning to add days at the end of the year as well.
Owens Saylor, superintendent of Daviess County Public Schools, said the school board budgeted for ten built-in makeup days this school year, but the days have run out.
Now, Saylor said the school year will at least end June 2nd. Any missed days will be added on. The previous end date was May 30th. -
Officials from Webster and Hancock County Schools said they are also tacking on days to the end of the school year.
Representatives from Muhlenberg County and Owensboro Public Schools said they are waiting for boards to decide how they will makeup the missed days.
