Dr. Del Rio Hoover helped create the St. Mary's Center for Children in 2005. She was chosen for her dedication to not only improving the quality of lives of patients, but also saving lives.
"It's an incredible honor," said Dr. Del Rio Hoover. "To see the other previous award recipients and to be honored amongst them, I feel very humbled. I don't feel like like I can reach up to their level, but I'm very honored and humble to be a part of this."
She also played a part in launching the St. Mary's Feeding Clinic, which is one of only three of it's kind in the nation. The feeding clinic is designed to help children who lack everyday skills, such as chewing and swallowing their food.
