Evansville, Ind. - The Midwest Dragon Boat Race makes another big splash in Evansville. The race returned to Eagle Crest Lake this weekend as part of Evansville's "Funk in the City" Art festival. 15 teams paddled their way across the lake to get a shot at a championship trophy. Many team members from years past, returned today and say the race is not as easy as it may look.

Craig Wilmes says, "It's pretty hard it takes a little bit of practice. If you don't come together you'll be doing donuts. If your not on time you'll be going pretty slow".

Dragon boats are a symbol of Chinese culture. The 40-foot long, canoe-like boats are painted in vibrant colors and have a dragon's head and tail carved into them. The race has been in Evansville since 2006.
