EFD Dedicates New Fire Truck

- A first of it's kind for Evansville. The fire department dedicates a new rig in memory of one of it's own.

The EFD's newest addition is a platform quint truck. It features a 2,000 gallon per minute pump and a 100 foot aerial ladder with a platform. The truck cost more than $940,000 price tag.

It was named for late fire inspector Dennis Mosby, who served the department from 1980 until 2003. He passed away last year from a long battle with muscular dystrophy.

"It made me feel very proud and honored," said Dana Myers. "It would have meant a lot to my dad. I know he's looking down on it now. Real happy about it."

The truck will be stationed on the city's north side at Fire Station No. 8.
