UPDATE (10:15 P.M.): Evansville Police were called to 2039 Pollack around 6 p.m., after a woman called 911 reporting she had been threatened. 41-year-old Kendra Baker told police she received a call from 44-year-old Terry Lee Daugherty, threatening to come to the house and "cut her throat."

Daugherty and Baker have a child together and shared the home on Pollace, until Daugherty was arrested on April 16 for felony domestic violence and strangulation. Daugherty was out on bail, and a no contact order was in place as a condition of his release.

When police arrived, they say they saw Daugherty behind the house holding two knives. They say Daugherty ran off and attempted to get into a house on 2045 Margybeth. Police say they told Daugherty to drop the knife in the driveway, but they say he refused and even told officers they would have to shoot him.

Officers say when Daugerty refused to drop the knife, one of the officers shot him in the chest. Daugherty was taken to a hospital for a single gun shot wound. His condition is unknown at this time, but he's expected to survive.
