EPD Responds to Several Shots Fired Calls Overnight

The Evansville Police Department handled at least three shots fired calls from Saturday evening to Sunday morning.

The first occurred near the intersection of Riverside Avenue and Governor Street around 10:30 p.m. According to an EPD report, officers were working a traffic stop when they heard several gunshots. Two juvenile males were apprehended after a brief chase.

The second shots fired call came in around midnight near Riverside Avenue and Governor Street.

Around 4:30 a.m., EPD was called to the Chuckles near the intersection of Highway 41 and Virginia Street. An incident report states several shots shattered the store’s front window. According to EPD, no one saw the shooter or shooters at the time of the report, but the store will be providing security footage.
