An Evansville man is facing several charges for allegedly firing a shotgun at a woman Sunday morning. He told police he was only trying to scare her off, when she refused to leave his house.

25-year-old Michael Charles is charged with criminal recklessness and attempted battery with a firearm. Investigators say he attacked the victim before firing the gun.

EPD's SWAT team was called in to help arrest him. Charles was found hiding inside a nearby vacant home not far from Diamond Ave. and Highway 41.
