Evansville Police take more than eight grams of meth off city streets. Now, a man faces several charges for dealing and possession.

46-year-old Joseph DeWeese is in custody. An EPD officer saw DeWeese "acting suspicious" in the 700 block of 10th Ave. around 1 a.m. Monday. Police say he ran down an alley and into a garage.

Once inside, police found meth and marijuana in a tool chest with DeWeese's name on it. A search warrant turned up 8.4 grams of meth, about a gram of pot, and several pipes, syringes, and spoons with drug residue.

Police also arrested a woman, 46-year-old Sharon Sarchenko, for possession of a small amount of marijuana.
