A former Warrick County Postmaster learns his sentence today after pleading guilty to federal charges of possession of child pornography.
60 year old Floyd Thompson used to be an Elberfeld Postmaster, and this morning  a judge sentenced him to 5 years and 3 months in prison.
Last year, he was arrested after investigators say they found thousands of child porn images, some with girls as young as 3 years-old.
But, detectives say none of the crimes were committed at the post office.
Thompson will also have to be on supervised released once out of prison for the rest of his life.
A former Tristate postmaster pleads guilty to federal charges of possession and receiving child pornography.

60 year-old Floyd Thompson was arrested last year in Evansville after the feds say they found thousands of pictures of small children on his computer.

This morning he pleaded guilty to the charges in a federal court.

US Attorney Joe Hogsett says, "Today is yet another good day for the children of southwest Indiana, for the children of Indiana generally. Today is another good day for taxpayers and residents and citizens of southwestern Indiana as a guilty plea has been entered by a public official who by his conduct has violated the public's trust."

Hogsett also says Thompson had been the postmaster in Elberfeld, Indiana at the time. But the allegations of having child pornography did not have anything to do with his job. Thompson is expected to be sentenced next month.
