Recent recalls aren't the only challenges for General Motors.

Analysts say the automaker has lost more than 15 billion dollars in Europe since 2000 and there's no sign that  GM will be profitable there anytime soon.

It is also contending with a shrinking market share and earnings decline in China.

GM has gotten criticism since its 1.6 million car recall for a faulty ignition switch, but analysts do not expect it to have much impact on sales and profits.

That issue is expected to have limited impact on the company's sales and profits.
