Indiana Governor Mike Pence is pushing for a repeal of the medical device tax.

The 2.3% tax went into effect January of last year and is part of the Affordable Care Act.

Pence says it has hampered the Indiana Economy, especially the life science and medical device industry.
In a letter to the White House, the governor asks for President Obama to work with congress to repeal the tax.

Indiana is second in the nation in exports of life sciences products at a value of more than 9.7 billion dollars.
