Habitat Home Dedicated in Evansville
The rain didn't dampen spirits near downtown Evansville.
Today, Habitat for Humanity of Evansville dedicated a brand new house.
Rukiya Durden is the proud new owner of this home on South Evans.
Representatives from Old National Bank and the Dunigan family foundation were on hand for the ceremony.
The home features enough space for her family, including bedrooms for all three kids.
Rukiya tells us this day has been a long time coming, but the arduous process of building and planning was worth it.
Rukiya Durden says, “Finally it's one of the accomplishments and the dreams I had, and one of the goals I set for myself. And it's finally here and today was a good day for it."
Sara Miller says, "I was just so happy for her and I saw that glimmer of hope that as she enters a new home for her and her 3 children, um, very happy we could be part of that day."
This was Habitat Gome number 431, and the 9th such home Old National Bank has helped build.
