More than 1000 people attended the 68th annual Memorial Day service in Henderson's Central Park.
Featured speaker Colonel Gregory Lowe captured the dual emotions many Veterans feel on this day by sharing a story of sadness when he lost friends in the line of duty followed by the honor he felt when his son joined the navy.
Hometown sailor Vernon Seiler served in WWII
He says today's ceremony brought back memories of when he returned to Henderson following the war.
