Line St. Fire Ruled Arson

-

Evansville Fire officials say they have determined the fast-moving fire that destroyed four homes last night was intentionally set.

investigators say evidence found at the scene leads them to believe it was not an accident.  Three houses and an apartment building were damaged.  Officials say the house where the fire started was also the scene of an arson three months ago.

Two of the houses destroyed last night have already been torn down.  Vanderburgh County officials issued an emergency razing for two of the Line Street homes this morning.  Officials say the demolition was done as a safety precaution.  The second floor of one of the houses dropped more than a foot and there were fears it could collapse at any moment.  Family and friends of the resident of one of the other homes were moving stuff out of his home today.
