All lanes open after crash involving stolen truck on Interstate 69

According to Sheriff's deputies, 32-year-old Christopher James of Evansville veered off the road and crashed into a parked pickup truck.

James told deputies he didn't remember anything before the crash.

He says he may have fallen asleep behind the wheel.

James was treated for a possible head injury.

Deputies say the parked pickup truck had been reported stolen.

An accident closed all southbound lanes of Interstate 69 around one mile east of Highway 41 around 6:40 AM Tuesday.

All lanes have since reopened.

Officials at the scene say the crash that temporarily closed the road involved two pickup trucks.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office said a truck was on the shoulder of the interstate, when the second truck came from behind rear-ending it.

Deputies confirm the truck on the shoulder was reported stolen.

No one was seriously hurt.

The road reopened around 7:20 AM.
