Alleged Killer of Evansville Woman Behind Bars

The daughter of a veteran Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Deputy is dead, and her alleged killer is behind bars.

Allison Tenbarge, 20, of Evansville was found dead in a Clarksville, Tennessee apartment on Wednesday.

Later that day, state troopers arrested her former boyfriend, Quintin Bird, 21, of Kuttawa, Kentucky.

Few details are being released at this time, but investigators believe the murder was domestic-violence related.

Tenbarge is the daughter or Kenny Tenbarge who is a lieutenant at the Vanderburgh County Jail.

Allison was 8 months pregnant.

Sheriff Dave Wedding says the tragic and senseless crime has shaken Lieutenant Tenbarge's friends and co-workers.

Sheriff Wedding says Lieutenant Tenbarge can have all the time he needs while he and the family grieve over Allison's death.

Wedding also says the sheriff's office has a peer-support network that can help provide counseling in case Tenbarge needs it.
