Ball Players Remember Teammate

Monday was the first 11 year old Haubstadt Little League game without a valuable team member.
11 year old Mitchell Steckler was an infielder for the team but was tragically killed in an ATV crash in Gibson County.
Steckler crashed his side-by-side ATV in a field when he was farming with his family off of County Road 350.
On their first time back on the diamond since the accident, his teammates proudly wore his initials on their helmets and camouflage bracelets on their wrists.
A prayer service was held before the game and all of the ball players lined up afterwards to hug Mitchells family.
A close friend took a moment to remember his teammate.
"He was funny, said John Kiesel "he was inspiring, he was just a good friend and he was nice."
