Boonville Attorney Suspended for Three Years

An attorney in Boonville has been suspended from practicing law for at least three years after he allegedly wrote himself $20,000 in checks from the account of an 88-year-old woman living in a nursing home.

According to a disciplinary order from the Indiana Supreme Court, Attorney Gene D. Emmons was the court-appointed guardian for the woman.

Court documents say Emmons failed to do the guardianship accounting report and did not comply with the state disciplinary commission.
