Candlelight Vigil Held For Boy Who Died Riding An ATV

A night of mourning and memories as family and friends gather to remember the 14-year-old Tristate boy who died riding and ATV this week.

A candlelight vigil for Caleb Poehlein was held outside Pike County Middle School.

Danyelle Widner, Caleb's Aunt says,"Whoever did not get to meet our Caleb you missed out on the greatest child that was put on this planet."

The definition of camouflage: to blend into your surroundings. But in a sea of camouflage, Caleb's impact on those who knew him, doing everything but blending in.

"When I see camo just walking through the store I automatically think of Caleb," Caleb's uncle Justin Lundy says.

Caleb died when he lost control of his 4-wheeler and crashed. Friends and family wore camouflage in honor of his love for the outdoors.

His aunt Danyelle wants people to remember Caleb himself, not the tragedy or what could have happened. She calls him brave, fierce and fearless.

"When you see a turkey, when you see an ATV know that Caleb is close," Widner says.

But even in this tragic accident, some family members say Caleb died doing something he loved.

"I hate that it happened but at least it was something cool," Lundy says.

"I'm so incredibly proud of you baby boy, for the man you were before your time, before you had to be, and that I love you to the stars and the moon," Widner says.

Visitation will be tomorrow starting at 10 a.m. followed by funeral services at Petersburg Gospel Center.
