Clay Line Collapses, Causes Sinkhole in Evansville

Another sinkhole has popped up in Evansville, this one is at Fifth and Fountain.

Eyewitness News got a shot of it earlier Wednesday morning, what's hard to see is that it is about 12 feet deep, according to Evansville Water and Sewer Utility Director Allen Mounts.

He tells us an 18 inch clay line collapsed, causing the pavement to give way.

Mounts says crews began digging at the hole on Wednesday to determine how best to repair the problem.

We'll keep you posted as to how soon it will be repaired.
