CMOE celebrates re-opening of intersection

The Children's Museum of Evansville celebrated the grand re-opening of the intersection outside its front doors.

5th Street and Locust Street downtown opened Monday. On Friday, city leaders celebrated the completion by cutting a ribbon.

The streetscape project is part of the IU Medical School construction. With the street back open, CMOE can get back to business as usual.

"I can't say enough about the patience of the CMOE staff or directors and most importantly the moms and dads and grandpa's and grandma's aunts and uncles who brought kids down here during the construction phase,” said Mayor Lloyd Winnecke.

At last check, construction on the $61 million medical school is on schedule to be done early next year.
