Vigil Held For Two Victims Killed In Union County Shooting

A Union County community is remembering two people who were shot and killed on Friday night.

A candlelight prayer took place Tuesday evening in front of Bowman Chapel CME Church in Morganfield.

Caesarrae Rapier and George Black Junior were found dead at a home on West O'Bannon Street.

The ceremony Tuesday was so crowded it shut down the area near West O'Bannon Street where candles were lit.

"It's just been the outpouring of the community and love and just the hurt of the situation, which was like a senseless thing, but it's not just here. It's going on all over this country, and it's time for it to stop," said George Black Senior.

Keyontae McGuire, Clarence Smith, and Joeviante Simms all face murder charges after leading police on a chase Friday that ended in Henderson.

All three men stood before a judge for the first time Tuesday. They'll each appear in Henderson District Court next week for preliminary hearings.

Court documents say the three men were allegedly buying marijuana when the shooting happened.
