Court Date Set for Jody Jenkins

An initial court date has been set in the federal public corruption case against Union County Judge Executive Jody Jenkins.

Jenkins will make his first court appearance on September 28.

On Wednesday, a federal grand jury indicted the longtime judge executive on four counts of fraud for his alleged involvement in a kickback scheme.

Prosecutors have alleged Jenkins receieved $20,000 in kickbacks on the county's purchase of stolen heavy equipment.

Jenkins' attorney told Eyewitness News that his client looks forward to fighting these allegations in court.
