I-69 Back Open After Motorcycle Crash

UPDATE:

I-69 near Covert Avenue has re-opened following Monday night's motorcycle crash.

The driver has been identified as Joshua Weinhandl of Owensboro.

Warrick authorities say he was taken to St. Vincent.

There is no word on his injuries.

The crash shut down the southbound lanes of 69, as well as the Covert Avenue exits, but authorities say that traffic is now moving again.

Deputies are still investigating what caused Weinhandl to lose control of the motorcycle.

Part of Interstate 69 is shut down on Monday night after a crash involving a motorcycle. It happened over Covert Ave. around 9:30 p.m.

Evansville Police say the motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital, but there is now word at this time on that person's condition.

This part of the interstate is actually in Warrick County, so the Warrick County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation.
