Democrat announces run for Indiana Secretary of State

(Your Local Election Headquarters) - Jim Harper, a Democrat, announced his candidacy for Indiana  Secretary of State on Wednesday morning.

“It is time for a new generation of leadership in state government. All too often, our state government has sided with those at the very top at the expense of ordinary Hoosiers. I’m running for Secretary of State because we desperately need a fresh perspective at the state house. Our Secretary of State must set party politics aside and focus on improving the lives of all Hoosiers,” said Harper.

Harper was born and raised in Valparaiso. He currently lives there.

He graduated from Indiana University and received his law degree from Georgetown University.

The Democratic nominee for Secretary of State will be chosen at the Indiana Democratic State Convention on June 16, 2018.

The general election is on November 6, 2018.
