Deputies: Driver of vehicle taken to hospital after crash with stolen truck

Driver veered off the road, striking another vehicle in the emergency lane

VANDERBURGH COUNTY (WEHT) - The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office said the driver of a vehicle involved in a Tuesday morning crash was taken to the hospital with a possible head injury.

Deputies said Christopher James of Evansville was driving southwest on I-69 when he veered off the road and struck an unoccupied vehicle parked in the emergency lane.

Deputies confirm to Eyewitness News that unoccupied vehicle was reported stolen.

Deputies said James told them he did not remember anything prior to the collision and believes he might have fallen asleep.

James was taken by ambulance to the hospital to be treated.
