Elementary students experience earthquake simulator

Tri-State kids were learning how to prepare for an earthquake on Thursday.

The “Great American Shake Out” made a stop at Stockwell Elementary.

It teaches kids earthquake preparedness with a bit of a hands-on method.

An earthquake simulator lets kids experience earthquakes with a magnitude 3 all the way up to 7.

Officials said our area, the Midwest, is the third most likely to be affected by an earthquake behind California and Alaska.
