EPD: Mother Arrested for Meth Possession After Child Calls 911

Evansville Police said a woman was found asleep on her bed with methamphetamine next to her after a juvenile called authorities allegedly stating that they could not wake their mother.

When officers arrived to the residence in the 100 block of Wedeking Ave., they said they found Rebekah Fenwick on her bed with several items of drug paraphernalia and drugs immediately next to her person. Police said a small metal tray with a small amount of crystal meth was next to a burnt and cracked glass pipe, along with a small water bong with burnt material, all right next to the bed.

The material tested positive for meth, according to authorities.

Fenwick allegedly admitted the substance was meth and that she had used it earlier in the day, according to authorities.

Fenwick was transported to the Vanderburgh County Corrections Center. She faces charges of child neglect, meth possession, and possession of paraphernalia.

Child Protective Services was contacted and a family member of Fenwick's was cleared by CPS to take custody of the child.
