EPD: St. Louis Man Charged in Stabbing

Suspect arrested in Lexington, KY.

Evansville Police says a St. Louis man is charged with murder for his alleged involvement in a stabbing at a north side motel.

Investigators tell Eyewitness News a stabbing was reported just before 9:00 Friday night at Motel 6 in the 4200 block of N. US-41. Authorities identify the suspect as Ryan Connors, 26, of East St. Louis.

Police say a victim reported Connors had been travelling with him and several others. Investigators say he stole a van belonging to one of the victims and abducted a mentally-challenged person from the group.

EPD tells us officers learned Connors may have fled to the Lexington, KY area and alerted the Lexington Police Department. Lexington PD found Connors inside the stolen van with the missing man who was unharmed.

One victim in the stabbing remains hospitalized while another was pronounced dead at the scene. Vanderburgh Co. Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of that victim.
