EPD: Three Found in Reportedly Stolen Vehicle

Two men and a woman were arrested in Evansville on Thursday after allegedly being found in a vehicle reported stolen out of Columbus, Ohio.

According to a police affidavit, authorities observed a vehicle in a parking lot on Evansville's west side. When police ran the plates, they say the vehicle showed up as being stolen.

The vehicle exited the parking lot it was in – heading east through an access road and arriving at the west side Walmart parking lot, according to the affidavit.

Officers eventually approached the vehicle in the Walmart parking lot and detained all three passengers.

Police say the driver was identified as Andrew Doalson. The two passengers were Jason Spiegel and Chelsea Moore, according to police.

Police say they contacted authorities in Columbus who confirmed that the vehicle was active as a stolen vehicle. Allegedly, none of the three people tell police who the vehicle belonged to.

The person who had their car stolen told police in Columbus that as they went into a business on February 22, they saw someone enter his vehicle and drive away. The victim said they did not see the driver who took the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, police say they found a one hitter pipe, along with another pipe. Authorities say one of the pipes had a strong marijuana-like odor.

Doalson faces a charge of auto theft and possession of paraphernalia.

Spiegel and Moore both face a trespass charge and a possession of paraphernalia charge. At this time, no picture is available of Moore.
