Evansville Business Owner Reacts to Approval of Brew Pub on Franklin St.

An Evansville business owner whose plans for a Franklin Street bar were rejected over parking issues is now reacting to the approval of Brew Pub's plans for a microbrewery.

Kerry Chesser said he's happy the Board of Zoning Appeals approved Brew Pub's plans but he still believes the board treated him unfairly for his planned bar, Franklinsteins.

Chesser was denied a parking variance for the bar, which was going to be built at the old Bud's Harley shop last November.

Chesser said he hopes the board revisits his plans.

“Hopefully the city is working on a solution. I think they've come up with one. I've been following a little bit, and hopefully, it goes through with the plans they are showing. I hope it works. I think it will,” Chesser told us.

A Vanderburgh County judge has yet to rule on Chesser's appeal for a reversal on the board's vote.
