Evansville HydroFest: Everything You Need to Know

Evansville HydroFest will be taking place over Labor Day weekend and organizers have released information about how you can attend, what you can bring, and everything else you'd need to know.

Traffic

Riverside Dr. in downtown Evansville will be closed from Monday, August 28 to Tuesday, September 5 at 9 a.m. The closure is taking place so all the needed facilities for the event can be set up. The closure is from Court St. to Cherry St.

Admission

All United States Armed Forces veterans will be admitted to HydroFest for free. All you have to do is show a valid Military ID at one of the four admission gates.

Admission gates are located at Court St., Main St., Cherry St., and Waterworks Rd. They open at 8 a.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Admission wristbands will be available for $10 at all gates. They'll cover all three days.

Ages 12 and under are free.

Wristbands for those 21 and above include admission to the Concer & Beer Garden at Tropicana's Outdoor Events Plaza on Friday and Saturday night from 6-midnight.

What You Can Bring

You can bring coolers to HydroFest. They should be no larger than 12”x12”x12” and contain no glass. Anheuser Busch products will be available for sale on the Riverfront at several locations.

You can also bring blankets and chairs.

What You CANNOT Bring

Guns, pets, skateboards, bicycles, scooters, drones, fireworks, tents, and shade umbrellas are not allowed.

Viewing areas

The permanent concrete bleachers on the lower level of Dress Plaza will be open for seating at no additional cost. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Other options for watching include on the sidewalk of Riverside Dr., on the Greenway, and on the Ohio River from a pleasure boat.

Boating

Boaters will be closed to all traffic from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Friday-Sunday.

Pleasure boats will be able to enjoy the action from two locations: upriver and downriver from the racecourse. There will be a clearly visible line with buoys.

Boaters are not required to purchase a $10 wristband for everyone 13 and over, but organizers say they would appreciate it. The wristbands also admit you to concerts at Tropicana's Outdoor Events Plaza on Friday and Saturday.

Parking/Viewing for Those with Disabilities

There will be free parking in an area reserved for those with disabilities on Main St. between First and Second St. A raised viewing area for fans in wheelchairs will also be available. Those wishing to sit in the designated section are asked to use the Main St. admission gate near Old National Bank.

Where to Buy Wristbands

You can purchase wristbands at the event, but there area also several businesses offering wristbands beforehand.

All six Evansville-area Schnuck's stores, nine Heritage Federal Credit Union locations, the Evansville Museum, and SWIRCA will be selling tickets until August 31. Starting September 1, wristbands will be available a the admission gates.
