Evansville Man Accused of Injuring His Pregnant Wife

An Evansville man is accused of injuring his pregnant wife after he allegedly struck her with two children present in the residence.

Miguel Rodriguez-Guerrero faces a charge of battery involving bodily injury to a pregnant family member.

The incident allegedly happened on Thursday night in the 5200 block of Normandy St.

When officers arrived, they found the victim crying with large, dark circles around her eyes and a contusion on the left side of her neck.

The victim told authorities that she and her husband had been arguing. The victim alleges that Rodriguez-Guerrero grabbed her shirt and pulled her backward as she was trying to walk to a bedroom. When this allegedly happened, the victim told authorities she tried to push him away but he wrapped his arm around her neck and struck her in the left eye with his elbow. The victim said she was then pushed to the ground and sat on her to keep her pinned to the ground.

The victim is several months pregnant.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, there were two children aged three and one on scene at the time of the alleged incident.
