Evansville Man Sentenced on Child Pornography Charges

An Evansville man has been sentenced to 120 months in prison by a US District Judge following a guilty plea to possession and distribution of child pornography.

According to the court, Joshua J. Walker, 28, admitted on October 19, 2016 during his guilty plea that he had used file sharing software on numerous occassions to search for images of underage girls.

Walker reportedly told the court that he used file sharing software to conduct searches and download illegal images. Walker also reportedly admitted to the court that he created his own internet blog site where this illegal material was shared.

Assistant US Attorney Todd S. Shellenbarger, the prosecutor in the case, says the judge imposed five years of supervised release followin Walker's release from prison.

Walker will also have to register as a sex offender and may not have unsupervised contact with minors. He also must participate in a sex offender treatment program.
