Evansville Man's Body Recovered from Yellow Banks Lake

The body of a man who went missing in a Warrick County lake on Saturday has been recovered.

We are told that Jeremy Bunker, 41, of Evansville was swimming with his wife Vanessa Bunker after dark in Yellow Banks Lake near the beach area.

Authorities say that Jeremy became disoriented and encountered some aquatic vegetation and attempted to swim to shore with his wife.

At around 10:23 p.m. Saturday, bystanders reportedly saw Vanessa struggling to stay afloat while she was yelling for help. The bystanders then jumped in to rescue her.

Eyewitness News is told that Jeremy went missing and was presumed to be underwater.

Sunday morning around 12:39 a.m., Jeremy's body was found by an underwater ROV piloted by an Indiana Conservation Officer. We are told it was at that time Indiana Conservation Officer divers recovered Jeremy's body.

Authorities believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the incident.
